In 1997, Rome Flooring won the Consumer's Choice Award from the Wood floor Contractors Association. In 1999, Joe Cama accepted the Ottawa Centre Canadian Leadership Award for outstanding contribution to the Ottawa community. In 2001, the Government of Canada proudly recognized Joe Cama for outstanding service and contribution as a volunteer (2001 was proclaimed the International Year of Volunteers by the United Nations General Assembly).
Joe Cama is a member of the Italian Business and Professional Association of Ottawa, the Better Business Bureau, the Carleton Condominium Corporation and Tele 30 (Italian Community TV). A strong member of the Italian community, Joe has chaired the Italian Carnival Organizing Committee and acted in positions of Vice President and Director for the Italian Week Association. He has also been involved in mid-offered services and support to the Villa Marconi Long Term Care Centre. Interested in the promotion of youth through sports, Joe has been extensively involved in youth sports. He is President of the Ottawa United Soccer Club. He
has been involved in the Ottawa Dalhousie Soccer Club, the Ottawa Soccer League and has participated as a referee for youth teams throughout the Ottawa Carleton region, through the Ontario Soccer Association Referees. In 1998, Joe was invited to be a guest host for the CFRA World Cup soccer. He reported for seven weeks and became the popular community figure known as "Joe Soccer."
